Ok, so I have one of these headsets that has headphones + a mic combined, anyways, there is a green cable for the headphones, and a red one for the mic, there are 2, well, holes in the case where you plug em in, When I plug in the green one, headphones work fine, then I connect the red one to the hole next to it, but the mic doesn't seem to work at all, I have tried switching places, and still doesn't work, all drivers are up to date and I tried like 3 pairs of headsets.
Did you check if the headset isin't split half?
I know it sounds stupid
But have you tried checking youir skype settings?
might be that you've selected the wrong mic, thus, you don't hear anything from it

Hmm, best answer I could come up with is that maybe you showed the mic up in your ass, maybe that is why it ain't working as it should?
Does the mic display at all on "Recording Devices" tab of sounds? :P

Take a picture of the wires and post it here. I can't be bothered to read a comma, after, every, word.

I plug my red and green in the back of my PC. My front jacks can't grab the cables.
This is why I use Headphones and Mics separately
