    When I saw the Z87 Maximus I was laughing my ass off not gonna lie. Would've done a 240GB SSD and a 2 maybe 3TB hard drive on sale. I would've also went with 16GB's of ram since it'll actually be needed in the future as some games use over 8GB of memory. The PSU is complete overkill for the build too but hey. If that's what someone sees in a $1500 build then they're more than welcome to do it..

    I'm gettin' pretty tired of this z87 and 4670k, honestly. I just want a new board I think really. those x99 boards are sex as fuck, with the way the dimm slots are laid out.

    Tis a rough build but obviously if you look around you can get better prices imo. I picked the H100i because it's a good cooler and I've used it before, the MSI SLI Krait Z97 board is just there because I like the color scheme but it's always interchangeable with other Z97 boards of the OP's choice.

    The ram is by far one of the best I've seen for the price it's currently in. 2400Mhz is a breeze because all you have to do is enable XMP. The Powersupply is just there.

    Corsair makes good power supplies so pretty self explanatory. And the Pantheks Enthoo Pro is pretty much the best case at $99 with a glorious amount of features and easy to build in.

    The GTX 980 is what I chose because NVIDIA has great drivers and 4GB of V ram is more than enough. You can make the argument that he can also get the R9 390X but thats up to the op.

    Just some reviews if you are curious about some of the parts.

    Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case Review->

    GTX 980 Review ->

    Corsair Vengeance Pro Review ->
