I would recommend an Asus or MSi gaming laptops. My friends and I use these and the quality of parts from each company is good.
What do you guys think? Need a laptop around this price range, looking for something for gaming, but don't really want to sacrifice quality.. Thinking alienware 15 but, not sure. Any recommendations?

For your price range this is pretty much as good as it gets. https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GE72-APACH...&keywords=970m
You won't be able to get a 980M for a $1500 budget.

what ever you do, do not buy an alienware... buy an MSI or ASUS
The Asus ROG ones are definitely a good investment
Make sure that you have a 970M in there atleast

the CPU's don't really matter much in gaming since welp anything with an intel label slapped on it is good. It's more about the GPU that matters for the gaming part of the "gaming laptop". No matter what type of laptop you are getting, you are going to sacrifice performance FOR portability and size.
That being said, making as little sacrifices as possible is the ideal. I can't guarantee a $1500 laptop will run every game at 60 FPS on high/ultra but It will probably run the more demanding games at Medium settings. Mobile GPUs for Nvidia are getting closer to the performance of the desktop versions, but the gap will always be there.
Is a GT 860M 2GB good enough?
It also has i-4710HQ QUAD
12GB RAM
1TB
Would this be able to run DayZ, Arma 3, (life, other kind of 'mods), BF4, GTA, at at least medium/high 60/30 fps? thanks
Asus ROG its very good laptops
Msi laptops are imo the best in value, just look for the right one.
