    Question Help w/ internet security

So whenever I extract something from this site, I always turn off my internet security. However, no matter how long I wait, when I turn it back on... I always deletes the files as "threats"...

How can I prevent this from happening?

    One of two things-
    A. Mark the files as clean. Most AV's have options to ignore certain files
    or
    B. Leave Your AV off all the time.(Not recommended)
You could also try putting them in a PassWord protected folder? Maybe ur AV wont scan there.
    Also wrong section(i think)

you need to do 1 of 2 things.. possibly both of them

first you need to Google, how to add files / folders to your anti-virus's exceptions list.. that'll stop your AV from scanning a specific folder you can store shit in

second you need to get a flash drive / thumb drive / portable storage device.. get about a 1 gig portable storage device and you can save the files to that and simply plug it into your computer when you need to use them, take it out of your computer when your done

personally i stick with the second one because the first one is never guaranteed to work.

SD card ftw! But seriously WPS is right, if all else fails just put it on a Flashdrive or SD card. I know its a pain but what else can u do?

IMO get a better AV. Like Avast, it doesn't delete false positives, just tells you theyre there.

    AND ITS FREEEEE

Avast is shitty because of that.. most of the time it can't tell the difference and allows real viruses to run on your computer

Well i run Hitmanpro to find the viruses, then i use avast as a firewall/AV in combination with spybot S&D. I run Tuneup Utilities every couple of days to make sure my registry isn't screwed either. Its better than Norton or McAfee though.
    Thanks for the sig Ryan

    Check your quarentine.
If your file is there, restore it and add it to the exclusion list.
(when scanning, anti-virus skips the file)
Tell me what anti-virus you have so i can help you better.

You can Set the selected file you wanted an exception. So AV would not scan the file, but for me, i hardly use my AV, i download and scan it, before using. My AV's always off.

Um Ask u what to do when it finds a virus but if u say ignore it,it will comeback up in 3 seconds, just add it to the exceptions list.

Maybe someone should write a guide. Idk if it'd be relevant to this forum though.
