It might fix it, as it resets your C drive too. If it's a viral like I thought.
If it doesn't fix it, get your laptop to a PC store and let em fix it. Because in that case, you fucked up really bad.

Same thing happened to me, if you have yourr recovery disks, your good.
Hold your power button to shut off, then when promted with safe mode ect.
press f2 or f11, (i forgot), with the disk in your drive, go to the cd and launch it from the thingy,

    I hope this helps

If you're trying to get 64 bit make sure your computer is 64 bit compatible otherwise you're going to be SOL with that install disk.

Windows restore should work, if not then you can find a place near you where you can get a diagnostic , like near me i have a place called PCW computer take it there say 40$ a bit pricey but worth it and 30-40$ is the cost of just a diagnostic and maybe anpother 30-40$ for the fix depending on if parts are needed or not. Like with my Desktop i snapped to motherboard (Pulling it out and unplugging the Ethernet cable alot will cause) But thats what i would say if you can't find a solution online or to get it to recover, Also i know with my AlienWare comp it came with a recovery disc incase the regular one failed like yours is doing try that !
    Rep please if i helped!!

Use your recovery partition or discs. Usally HP computers/laptops come with a recovery partition.
If that fails. Boot off the windows 7 DVD and do a format + install.

FUCK HP LAPTOPS. GOD DAMN. So annoying

    Try this:

Restart the computer and keep pressing F8 until the "Advance Boot Options" menu comes up.

Use up and down arrow buttons to navigate the menu, select "Safe Mode" and hit Enter

This time you won't see the computer blue screen error.
When the welcome screen comes up select Administrator and enter administrator's password(if you have one).

Click on the START button and navigate to the Accessories folder. There you will see a folder entitled "System Tools," navigate to that folder and click on System Restore.

In the System Restore program, make sure "Restore my computer to an earlier time" is selected and click NEXT.

Choose a date on the calendar that you want to restore your computer and click NEXT.

The last page of the System Restore will pop up with your date that you have chosen and click NEXT. The system will reboot and the computer blue screen will be gone
