    Help Building a PC. I'm a Noob.

I would like to build a awesome gaming pc.

I need to know where do I start at? I'm not going to buy all the parts at once so I probably need to start at the case?

Suggestions are welcome. I'm a noob at this.

Why wouldn't you buy all the parts at once?

You need a motherboard that can handle good GFX cards and CPU's. So go on Newegg and get a Motherboard that can support a x4 core, and a decent GFX. Plenty of ram. Then you are going to want to get some fans, a DVD play thing, a power supply, and then the case. I can help you pick one out. I recommend something like this
    AMD Phenom II x4 3.2GHz
    NVIDIA GTX 460
    8GB RAM
    And so on
    TOTAL: Around $1000-$1500

I already have a laptop and that's the main thing I use as it's better then my pc. It can play a game like crossfire fine. But Call of Duty and battlefield is the type of thing I want it to be able to play easily.

Not that bad of a config, but i would only take 4 Gb of ram (also running it, got no problems with crysis 2 full hd 4x aa very high) and a GTX 560, maybe even GTX 560 Ti, way better card. And make sure its a GTX that has a decent cooling system, im running an EVGA GTX 460 EE and it annoys the hell out of me because its too loud...but still an awesome card

    1. A CPU-i would recommend a Intel core i5 series as a minimum for gaming
    2. PSU-depends on what you have, i.e. if you have more than 1 graphics card. you might need a 700W+
    3. RAM-minimum RAM for gaming now-days is 3GB, so i recommend 6-12GB
    4. Graphics Card-a ATI 5770 is still good, unless you want the latest ones
    5. Chasis-any full tower would do, just be sure it has what you want, i.e. fan space, window, mesh in the front, and enough space for all your stuff
    6. HDD-i would recommend a SSD for a boot drive(40-80 GB) and a storage drive (1TB-2TB)
    7. Motherboard-anything in the 2010-2011 time range that can handle your computer specs, be sure its not a bottleneck
    8. Cooling-water cooling, nuffsaid. Worst thing and most common thing is over heating.
    9. Burner/Reader-anything, but i recommend a Bluray burner/reader
    10. Other Accessories-i.e. light cathodes, extra fans, external pump(water cooling), mouse, keyboard(i recommend Razor for both), Card reader, wireless network adapter, speakers(5.1 surround sound is good), monitor(20+in.), and/or microphone.

    Tips:
=ground yourself before touching any new computer parts
=in the process of assembling, you want to keep the wires neat if you want to show it off.
=be careful where you assemble it or unbox it.

My advice: get a friend who knows how to do it. You'll be strangling yourself with even the simplest power cords in a week.
