    Then...

You want 8GB+ of DDR3 RAM, 1666 is the sweetspot for AMD. Your CPU should be no less them a Phenom II X4 955, you can risk a Callisto (Phenom II X2 555) and it might unlock to a Phenom II X4 B55 but I wouldn't risk it... You can also get a Llano APU in the Phenoms stead if you want. for your GPU, try to see if you can find a EVGA 460 GTX 2WIN... ITS $300ish and the best card you can buy. If not go with a 6950, 5770 crossfire, or something of the sorts.
For HDD you want 7,200+ RPM with good cache. i.e DONT go for caviar green, blue is "generic" & black is preferred. and PSU well uhm it should be obvious, dont be cheap with that.

1g of ram is horribly unreliable.

The best way to get a New PC is to throw a little Liquid on it while it's off... In the CPU, Memory Slots, on the 4Pin ATX 12v socket, and The PSU... Wait 5 minutes then tell someone to turn it on... lol... Use this Info at your own risk, this might cause your PC to catch fire, smoke, spark, burn out, or some other weird shit...

lol. I can remember once we spent 2 hours of lessons to learn about a message box that appears when u are closing an unsaved document on Wordpad.
In the first lesson we learned about the "Yes" and the "No" button, and in the second about the "Cancel" button. Come on...I mean I am 14. I code on my PC, why the fuck our teachers recommend us those fail books?
@Resaun my friend threw milk on his keyboard, he has a Acer Aspire 5740, and I have a 5738. His PC is still OK. But IDK how to open my PC, so I cannot throw pee on my CPU.

Its because the teachers dont know how to do anything else

And do what resaun said! but if you want a safer method, just pull out all the RAM, give it to a friend to keep, hide it in your backpack or school locker and then try. there will be screws on the bottom of the laptop to a way-too-obvious cover that opens up the HDD/RAM area.

School Locker? Are you serious? When I get back on school I will make a foto of the boy's bathrooms. U are going to be surprised. It's about 2x2 meters.
