How do you find out what sort of connector you have?
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.

    Yes,
that's what I'd like to know.

you have to take you computer apart and look at your mother board. Most mother boards will tell what is is next to the connector. There are also websites that have widgets and such that can tell you, but i dont know any websites off the top of my head srry

yes most mother boards have labels next to the connecters. Almost all of them do now because of people adding new things and for referance for the manufactures

when i say connector i am refering to "slot"

also your going to have to look how much watts your power supply is so you know if you can run the graphics card you want. Just look at the power suply and it should tell you. then when you go to buy the graphics card, then just look at the side of the box and it will say how much watts it requires

Will my power supply also be labeled in my MB?

And my slot should be a PCI express X16,
    well I'm hoping at least.

I'm going to look at it tomorrow.

your MB will not tell you what the power supply is you will have to look at the actual power supply

if you dont know what the power suply is then it is the box that has a bunch of cord coming out. you may need to un-screw it to see what watt it is. but dont worry un-screwing it wont mess up your computer as long as you dont remove any cords. or if you do then just remember where they go.

no the one you want to get i believe draws the power right from the MB which indicates that it doesnt take much power

if you get a 8500 or a 9500 GT you wont need a really big power supply it draws its power right out of the slot so there very power efficient at the cost of not as powerful but are a lower end card and that would suck if you plug it in and its PCI-E 1.1 not 2.0 because it will cut your bandwidth in half and will cut performance but it will fit into the slot
