I'm going international to the states Even though people say UBC and SFU is not that bad.
Tssk - no Canadian pride :@ How can you even afford that? Anyway, unless you're going ALL THE WAY to your PhD or Masters, I honestly don't think it matters which school you go to as long as they're accredited programs - they all conform to the same standards set out by accreditation boards and employers don't really care when the market is this needy for startup engineers - its the promotions you'll probably need a better name behind your degree for (By then you may have gone back to a different school to upgrade your bachelors). The market for your career may not be as high in demand in which case you might need a good name behind you right off the bat to compete with everyone else.
What I'm saying is, don't throw all your money away for a degree you don't need the name for. That doesn't mean go to a no-name school, but it does mean that you don't need to go to the greatest university in the country. And, if you do, be damn sure you study hard and get your moneys worth because that shit will put you in debt for the next couple years of your life (Unless you have the black hole of money account created by your parents, in which case I am jelly.)
1. Apply for both SFU & BCIT - whichever one is cheaper, sign up for their BS in EE program.
2. Submit a request for a student loan from Financial Aid Canada (or w\e its called).
3. If student loan fails, /suicide - otherwise begin courses.
4. If student loan fails, get a job at McD or the theaters and work for a few years so I can afford a post-secondary edumacation.
I'm really into going to BCIT because of the community & what the school has done to hook me. They do a lot of programs to get kids in to engineering (Lego League, Summer classes etc...) and last time I went all the instructors were very helpful and informative(as a kid, I haven't graduated High-School yet obviously.)
I haven't done as much research into SFU but it doesn't seem as compatible with me in regards to the learning strategy.

There are two types of tragedies in life. One is not getting what you want, the other is getting it.
If you wake up at a different time in a different place, could you wake up as a different person?
