Hey Guys well i got a new Motherboard for my pc and i was wondering when installing it do i need thermal Greese or Thermal tape at all. It also says on the instruction thing -Power on the computer and enter the BIOS load optimized defaults and set the first boot device to optical drive. I dont understand that either anyone mind helping me?
its not really neccesary although make sure u have a good CPU fan and the right socket....usually cpu fans come with thermal grease on them,
also for the boot settings...unless ur reinstalling windows u this is pointless
So with that boot thingy what its trying to tell you to do is go into your bios and change your boot settings so that the first device the computer tries to boot from is your optical drive (cd/dvd drive) that way if you ever have a problem with your harddrive when you stick in a recovery cd or something, it'll boot from the cd instead of trying to boot from a possibly broken hard drive.
