    Exclamation How can i run faster?

    Uhhh.. I couldn't find specifically 'help' section, so ill post here, hoping its the right one..

    Well, when i was younger, i used to be the 2nd/top few fastest in my Primary School

    But, my form has dropped and now i'm in Secondary School I'm now no longer speedy [well not as speedy as i used to be - but still not slow.

    But i'm thinking that this is happening/happened because I don't train...
    At primary school, all we could do was play football/soccer and tag/run-outs... So that's what made me fast...

    But now, at secondary all I can do is play football/soccer - though i have improved my agility/acceleration and football/soccer skills overall, my running speed ect has stayed the same/not improved alot...

    So i've decided that in the summer holidays, im gonna train hard - so, have you altheletes/runners [if there are any] got any tips/exercises ect to improve my speed?

    Just some info [As if this will make a difference buuuut]:
    Age: 14
    Can run 100m in: Approx 14 secs
    Ethnicity: Chinese
    Height: 5" 3
    Weight: 7 st/ 44.45kg
    Extra: I haz looooooooong legs compared to the norm @ my size, i have like teh same size legs as my other friends that are like a few inches taller than me

    Take longer strides. You take up longer distances per step and it's not as tiring on your legs.

    Run with weights on your ankles. After a few months, you will run faster and jump higher. All the black kids did this for Basketball.

    Its really simple lemme explain.

    1] Put on your shoes
    2] Stand in a proper position
    3] Start running slowly
    4] Go to the naruto running pose where you bend low and your hands fly behind your ass
    5] Keep doing it and you will actually feel a bit faster.

    Weighted ankles sound like the way to go.

    If you aren't naturally fast, you need to run more often. You're probably too young to lift weights, so playing sports and running is the best choice for you.

    Yeah but you have to balance your stride length by frequency other wise it'll cancel out and you might go slow/er
    i also do long jump so...

    i kinda am naturally fast, but i've nurtured some of it too...
    I do occasionally life weights though (dumbells) 2kg-4.5kg - /inb4watchoutwegotabadassoverthere, since i have like thin biceps, and normal/above average shoulder and forearm than my size.
