It all depends on the hardware in use, what kind of bandwidth does your router support? what about your network card? what kind of signal are you receiving with your wi-fi? I a general rule to follow is a hardwired connection with almost always out do a wireless connection in any regular household.

You dumb fuck, do i have to break this into 2321312312 pieces for you to understand? OKAI CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

So, first of all you have IEEE 802.11n which is a wireless standard that can carry up to 600 Mbit/s , close to what an Ethernet cable could carry.

    And then you have the ancients... 802.11g ;802.11b ;802.11a aaand the 802.11, which speeds are in order 54 Mbit/s ; 11 Mbit/s ; mid-20 Mbit/s ; 1-2 Mbit/s.

N is fine as long as your adapter and router are good quality. Ethernet is fine if your close to the modem/gateway/router, otherwise, cables are messy
