Live Below the Line will challenge you to live on $2 a day, for 5 days. It opens a window onto the day-to-day experience of extreme poverty, and mobilises thousands of Australians to make a real difference.
Live Below the Line began over a few backyard beers in a Melbourne share house. After a trip to the slums of India, two young guys needed a way to share their first hand experience of extreme poverty with their community in Australia. And so in 2010, Live Below the Line was born.
This year, from May 7th -11th you can join thousands of Australians spending just $2 a day on food for 5 days - the equivalent of the international extreme poverty line. You can use your experiences to bring extreme poverty to the centre of conversations in your home, school, university or workplace, and raise funds for Oaktree's life-changing educational projects in Papua New Guinea.
