I'm an E-3, 91B that leaves for basic in a few days. The army is a great choice to make. Don't listen tosome of the others In here that have zero idea what they're talking about. Take it from a soldier, it's one of the best things you can do with your life. You get job security, and great pay. As an E-3 I get 1800 a month, 900 every two weeks. You don't even have to to a combat MOS. 91B is a wheeled vehicle mechanic. A job field that also applies to civilian life as well.
Go talk to a recruiter, take your ASVAB and see what you can get into as an MOS. There's no commitment until you sign a contract.
You aren't a soldier until you finish basic.

guess Canada pays better?
Canadian currency is worth less than American. Also, your housing, food, medical, dental, etc, is all paid for. including everything the Gov buys you + medical/dental, you get around $40k.
