I'm running an i7 3770. Thing runs like a beast. I've always been on the side of Intel, but I guess I don't really have anything against AMD.

Intel is definitely more powerful, but I choose AMD because it is a lot more affordable.

Im currently an AMD person. But my next build will be Intel because from reviews and recommendations, Intel is stronger.

If we're talking about OC'ing capability, AMD wins hands town. The TDP on the latest Intel CPU's is just shocking and really holds Ivy Bridge back, not to mention them using shoddy thermal contacts. On a clock for clock performance basis Intel wins. I mean in most categories the two are pretty much neck and neck, I've had AMD CPUs that have lasted years of pounding and I've had Intel CPU's that have done the same. Both are very capable outside of synthetic benching, so there isn't much in it when it comes decision time.

I do honestly think AMD is at the end of it's road. Intel are working away on their tock cpu (Haswell), and if history is any indication it will just launch Intel even further ahead not to mention their integrated GPU's are increasing in performance in leaps and bounds. AMD need to adopt a new mindset if they want to stay in the desktop CPU competition, imo.

You really don't keep up to date with this shit, it's so obvious. The Trinity series a flop? Alright, keep thinking that. It was designed for home use so people could easily multi-task and for light gaming. The only flop AMD has had recently was back with the Bulldozer series (which they fixed with Piledrivder).

AMD stretched itself too think when it bought the Radeon series, they simply need more money. Problem is, if AMD goes under, either Intels prices will skyrocket, or the American Government will cap it and limit how much they can sell for, which in turn Intel will limit their processors and we won't go anywhere until another company starts competing with Intel again.

I tend to buy Intel processors and AMD/ATI graphic cards. Never had an AMD CPU or an Intel/NVidia GPU before.
