Of course, if you run your own engineering firm or become a CEO, you can make millions.
I think you might be surprised how little a lot of doctors make, and they earn every penny of it! Regular general practitioners often times make under $200K, and remember that medical school is expensive and takes a long time. So while young engineers are making 50-100k/yr from age 22-30, med students are making nearly ZERO dollars and paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to their schools. The doctors that pull in the really big paychecks, like surgeons, have to train even longer before they go to work. On top of that, doctors often work very long hours and night shifts, while engineers usually work 40 hrs/wk.
So I think the better question these days is, "Why do Wall Street bankers make so much more than doctors and engineers?"

@aeronyxjr Computer/petroleum engineers get paid more than anyone you can imagine.
Also, I don't hate medical, it's just that I don't feel like becoming a doctor. Both of my parents are doctors and I hate medical shit cus of them..

Your mom seems like a total dick. You should never bribe your children to make life choices. They should just be telling you what they thing and arguing for there point. You have toi remember that they have more life experience and might know stuff you don't. Still it's your choice.
Engineering and medicine are both good, just make sure you choose the correct specific major/job so you don't get fucked
