x + 1/x = 4
x - 4 = -1/x
* x => x^2 - 4x = -1
x^2 -4x + 1 = 0
Then...
Well solved.
x + 1/x = 4
x - 4 = -1/x
* x => x^2 - 4x = -1
x^2 -4x + 1 = 0
Then...
Well solved.
The answer is....coming in 6hours

lel easy equation,
x=2-√3
x=2+√3
The solution has been posted !! (On the first page)
Post the steps... how did u solve it.
True, people suck soo bad at maths x]
Ahaaa i was like you xD, i stoped at the x^2 - 4x +1 part, then i took out a paper, and spent 10 minutes on the toilet trying to figure it out XDD

Aha nope :P, you cannot factor 1/x, but you can factor something like x/4 example :
x + x/4 + 3x = 0
x(1 + 1/4 + 3) = 0
17x/4 = 0
17x = 4 * 0 ------> x = 17 * 0 -------> x = 0
x = 0

ok then.
Solve for x over the real number
x+1/x=4 write
(the left hand side as a single fraction)
Bring x+1/x together using the common denominator x:
x^2+1/x=4
(multiply both sides by a polynomial to clear fraction)
Multiply both sides by x:
x^2+1=4x
(move everything to the left hand side)
Subtract 4x from both sides
x^2-4x+1=0
(solve the quadratic equation by completing the square)
Subtract 1 from both sides:
x^2-4x=-1
(take one half of the coefficient of x and square it. then add it to both sides)
Add 4 to both sides:
x^2-4x+4=3
(factor the left hand side)
Write the left hand side as a square:
(x-2)^2=3
(eliminate the exponent on the left hand side)
Take the square root of both sides:
x-2=√3 or x-2=-√3
(look at the first equation: solve for x.)
Add 2 to both sides:
x=2+√3 or x-2=-√3
(look at the second equation: solve for x.)
Add 2 to both sides:
Answer:
x=2+√3 or x=2-√3
eh,told you easy
really you're posting some math bs and it's summer?
Well give this a shot. It's actually really easy, but most peoples minds interpret it incorrectly.
A bat and a ball cost a dollar and ten cents in total. The bad costs a dollar more than the ball. How much does the ball cost?
Did I help you? You know what to do.
The answer you provided is only half correct. /smh

I am really good at math, now i fucking forgot how to do this.
My head hurts from looking at that.
