Anyone majoring in Dentistry? Or can help?

I just chipped off a part of my tooth while eating chips and salsa.

This is a bad visual representation of my molar. The red stands for the part that chipped off. As you can see, it goes in a bit and then back out. That piece shattered into tiny pieces. There was no bleeding, so I'm guessing my nerves and what not are alright. Cheek is swelling minimally, and pain is minimal as well. I rinsed with room temperature salt water to retard any infections.

Edit: To put it in perspective, about 1/6 of my tooth is missing (as in if you were to cut my tooth into 6 pieces as if you were cutting a pizza and you took out one slice)

Update: Drinking cold water gets that really cold feeling in my tooth.

What will the dentists most likely do to fix this? A filling?

A filling, a cap, or a pull, all depending on how extensively its been damaged.
I am the seer in the dark,
    the vagabond of yore,
    valediction.
I am the sum of all your parts,
    and proprietor of all.
    A miasma,
    the conclusion,
    blackmonger of Inlé,
    valediction.
    Synapses fray,
    my form now vivid,
as torpor sets and blood grows tepid.
With every ounce of flesh now offered,
I hold your corpse within my coffers.
    Knitted cells now split asunder,
    stand alongside me brother.
Take your place amongst my Owsla,
we march at dawn now and forever.

    Basically what Aborted said.
When you do this, find a good dentist, not too old and not too young, else they may make mistakes.

Well, just because there was no bleeding or swelling doesn't mean there wasn't anything major.(Not trying to scare you.)

When the dentists examine it they will do what's right for what they say.

Seeing as that's not helpful, they will probably just do a filling which has minimal pain involved.

Don't worry, it's not as bad as you think.

"Religions are, by definition, metaphors, after all: God is a dream, a hope, a woman, an ironist, a father, a city, a house of many rooms, a watchmaker who left his prize chronometer in the desert, someone who loves you—even, perhaps, against all evidence, a celestial being whose only interest is to make sure your football team, army, business, or marriage thrives, prospers, and triumphs over all opposition. Religions are places to stand and look and act, vantage points from which to view the world. So none of this is happening. Such things could not occur. Never a word of it is literally true.”

Most likely a filling. It sounds like the dent wasn't that deep since there was no bleeding so I doubt it'll need to be removed.
    Godlike.

It looks like filling to me. I got filling myself once because of some...misbehavior in elementary school. It didn't hurt a bit.

I've gotten fillings before, I'm hoping it will only take a filling.

In other words, it depends how serious the chip is.

If it's serious, they might need to painfully remove the tooth.

If it's not serious but is extremely visible they might cap it.

In most cases they'll just fill.

Also wanted to mention that since it broke into many tiny pieces, I actually think it was old filling that broke off. I think I recall getting a filling there.

I'm guessing. But I'm not 100% sure if it was a filling before.
