To all the wrestlers/judoists/jiu jutsu fighters here

    I need some advice

I've been doing judo for seven years, got on eu competition scale, then switched to boxing due to broken fingers
now, my punches are strong, fast
but if I got into a streetfight with a wrestler or any grappler who has also been training really hard, I know I would have a good chance of ending up upside down if I miss a chance

I'm looking for standing grapple tricks, like throws that are really effective combined with a good punch etc

    no fancy kung fu bullshet
stuff that will take down big guys when performed correctly

I've looked up some videos but its all fancy nonsense that would end up with you making a fool out of yourself
    I need people with experience

    anyone out there?
Need a custom image title? Check out my thread

if you wanna take down a gorilla then a swift punch in the throat will do the job,you can also hit him in the temple with your elbow or a headbutt to the nose,if you are cornered then use the eggscrambler.

I don't need swift hits, punches will do fine, but some knuckleheads eat fists like as if its nothing, even if the momentum is high as fuck
I need something to follow up on that
like a ko punch followed by grabbing the legs and knocking someone down or something

In jiu jitsu we focus in making the opponent Subdue. A good move is the Americana which is "The American" in english, its when you twist the oponents arm upwards almost to the point of snapping the ligament. Another one which is concidered a "Illegal Move" its the Armlock Voador "Flying Armlock" its only practiced by the Black belts, but you are allowed to learn Purple belt and over because the move may Brake the opponents neck. the move is banned in competitions. Most of the Class of Jiu Jitsu is basic training like, Esgrima "Dodge" , Rastejo "Crawling" , Lutinha "1v1" after the basic warmups, Pushups and what not we practice the basic Moves, after practicing the "Rolamento,Armlock,Triangulo,Chave de Braço, Americana, Aranha" We head on to the tougher ones like Queda Quadrado "Sqare Fall" Or the Queda de lado "Side Fall". Brasilian Jiu Jitsu is also very famous because of Gracie, one of the founders of modern day Jiu Jitsu.

    Banned Moves:

Esgana Frango> Chocking the enemy with your hands
Armlock Voador> Leaping onto the enemy whilst grabbing the upper left sleeve and performing a armlock
Gilhotina> Its called the Guillotine for a reason, you Thrust your arms onto the oponents neck making it hard to breath
Massa Pao> Chocking the enemy with his sleeves

Purple belt can learn: Massa Pao, Armlock Voador
Brown Belt and Up: Gilhotina, Esgana Frango

Also, the worlds leading fighters are all Jiu jitsu black belts..
Well, I've never really been good at grappling martial arts but I do know that they're not centered around powerful strikes. They usually work on turning your attacker's momentum in your advantage.

Anyways, you might want to look into atemi waza. But let me tell you, learning shit like that won't happen over night or online. You're gonna have to talk to a fighter irl.

Edit: Didn't read that you did Judo before.

If you did JUdo before, you should have no problem taking down guys 3 times your size.

Check out Mifune taking out guys twice as 4 times big as him and 3 times younger than him.

    http:/tu.be/46veLgINFjU

Just practice practice practice. If you go more in depth with judo, you should be capable of taking your opponents out.

Jiu Jitsu is good but not when it's done alone. This is because jiu jitsu generally doesn't do well against strikes. It should be paired up with a striking martial art to balance it out .

"Religions are, by definition, metaphors, after all: God is a dream, a hope, a woman, an ironist, a father, a city, a house of many rooms, a watchmaker who left his prize chronometer in the desert, someone who loves you—even, perhaps, against all evidence, a celestial being whose only interest is to make sure your football team, army, business, or marriage thrives, prospers, and triumphs over all opposition. Religions are places to stand and look and act, vantage points from which to view the world. So none of this is happening. Such things could not occur. Never a word of it is literally true.”

By video do you mean a gay porno flick? I'd be down for that.

I'm a white belt in BJJ but wrestling feels more natural to me. The key to a takedown in an open area is grabbing a leg or both (single or double leg) and pulling it to your chest, and driving your shoulder into their stomach. Their upward body goes back, their legs stay in place, and they end up on their back. It's not hard to take someone down, just requires timing and them not allowing them to square up to be effective. Be sure to protect your face and neck, and never shoot in directly, set it up with jabs or something else.

I just realized I misread your question, but the safest way to fight is taking someone down and controlling the top. If you have decent submission defense, it's a lot harder for someone to submit you, especially when you're free to rain down shots to the face.

But ultimately, it's extremely stupid to get in a fight unless it's unarmed 1 on 1. I used to let my ego get in a way during fighting, but that was in school, where it was relatively safe. I wouldn't risk fighting outside of school, too many crazy fucks. Suck up your ego, and run.

I learned this from an Anderson Silva "fight training" video, I've never tried it, but it seems relatively easy. If someone shoots on you, step to a side, hook an arm with your arm, use it to turn to the side of them. From there, everything opens up.

I get your grabbing part, not using your back to lift the person but actually pushing in against him with your shoulders to lift him up, I'll see how far that one goes, since a decent grappler would probably back off and try to throw some punches or grab my upper body or something
Running away is not much of an option for me lol I wouldn't be able to live with that
I haven't fought in 6 years, its just that I want to be ready if the time comes, running away would be smart but then again, whats the point of training hard if you'll end up running away

@Rance-Sama yeah I'll just shoot someone
