I'm currently an accounting major, but I'm thinking of changing to finance.
I'd say accounting is way more valuable than just a general business degree, since accounting is a lot more specific in terms of duties and what you do, so jobs may be better for accounting. You'll need to get a CPA designation to get any decent-high paying job with accounting though.
About the degree though, Accounting would be better than business, I'd say.
Accounting degrees give people accounting jobs, but a general business degree is a lot more vague in terms of what job you'd get.
Finance and accounting are very similar. Accounting is essentially finance with more emphasis on real world applications and calculations, which is what accountants do, while finance is more general and theory based.
