Update: I now have 16GB ram installed

Seeing an updated performance mostly in amount of cows I can run, faster file opening/closes, some video editing, etc. They wanted $100 so it was a bit more but still cheaper then anywhere else obviously so I'm happy with it.

I've heard intel i5 is just about the same as i7.. Yeah I wish I had a higher end processor. Would rather upgrade my graphics card though.. not entirely sure yet.

You sir must be retarded, I was referring to AMD processor, and YES AMD is A PROCESSOR.
I was NOT referring to a graphic card.

i7 are way better, they are quad-core processor whereas i5's are dual-core processor. i5 is more like mainstream where as i7 is more like high-end.
I go with i7 all the way when it comes to gaming.

    Just felt like sharing this.
The extra ram will not increase your frame rate within Cross Fire. You already have enough RAM for video editing, although its more reliant on the CPU for rendering however it will equally use the GPU with graphic intensive editing. VMware can depend on a lot of factors, yes extra RAM does help but not in the way you would want it too.

For VMware RAM doesn't help so much, I will give you an example. Lets say you had 32GB ram, even if the maximum you could run before was 5 you can not exceed this limit even if you give each cow 3GB each. Your processor will need good memory management or all this extra ram isn't going to be helping you much. To run a decent amount of cows you will need:

A processor with a lot of cores, preferably over clocked (I would go with the AMD FX 8350) even though Intel has better performance per core and better memory management I would go with the AMD because it has more cores in total. You MOST DEFIANTLY need an SSD, something with a lot of read/write speed and RAM that clocks at high MHZ rate. On top of all of that you will need an efficient cooling system to stop everything from reaching high temperatures.

    Yours faithfully,
