    Talking 16GB Ram and CF

Well it turns out one of my friends in real life has had 2 sticks of 8GB RAM and sadly for him, it's DDR3 which he has a DDR2 computer. Obviously I have DDR3 and were just about 100% sure it's compatible with my computer. I'm really happy because I'm getting it cheap for like $60-75, (not sure yet) and gonna be in these next couple days. Oh not to mention, I'm getting a new graphics card here in the next 2-3 weeks which will be awesome.

Will my upgrade from 6GB to 16GB help much with FPS in CF? How about video editing? I have vmware as well so curious how many cows I can run with my processor.. (AMD Athlon II x4 645.)

    Just felt like sharing this.

    More sources = better perfomance.
The RAM (Random Access Memory) lets you run processes, so... the more RAM you have, the faster and smoother they run.
Everything that makes your computer faster helps you while running processes (yes, it will help you while you edit your videos).
That depends of your quantity of memory and the perfomance of your hard disk... but note: RAM = x MB of memory; 1 GB = 1024 MB; 16 GB = 16384 MB; CrossFire uses around 400 MB; I ran 2 CrossFire instances without lag, with 2 sticks of 1 GB each. Good luck!

P.S.: RAM doesn't upper your FPS, but a better video card does

Ram does nothing to your fps, just affects your joining game speed.

Should be able to run 1v5 @ 2Gb each with 16Gb of RAM. Not so sure about processor as I've never worked with it.

Check what motherboard you have and what RAM he has. You need to match the Mhz otherwise it won't function properly. 1333Mhz & 1600Mhz Is pretty much the standard these days.

I've got a gaming laptop of ASUS, and it has 16384 MB or ram - I get 260 FPS in everygame I play, so I suppose that will make a difference for you as well. Doesn't hurt to give it a shot

You should have a good graphic card , ram does not effect FPS .

After a few GB of RAM it has no extra effect on FPS.

Thought it did, guess it doesn't then I suppose the 250 FPS I get is from NVIDIA GFORCE GTX 660 M * 200.

Congratulations, as people above me said the RAM has nothing to do with your FPS but it affects on the joining matches speed, if you have a good graphic cards that will affect on your FPS and the game will run smooth.
