As you can see, gifs are not usually good-looking transparent. The format was meant to be for simple logos and animations, not art.
However, that is why we have the .png format, which supports pretty much everything:
Much better. It's common practice to use png for all flat images, since it is lossless and supports many formatting options.
Also, try a font that doesn't look like it's for kids, and if you really want animation, use the pic I posted earlier for the background to blend it in with mpgh.
