You've just finished a long, hard day at school/work and you want to play Runescape and try out that Bandos you finally bot enough gold for. You sit your butt down on your chair and you log in to Runescape only to find that you've been banned for macroing. SHIT!
Imagine that happens to you. Sucks, doesn't it? Well, lucky for you, I'm gonna share a little knowledge I have about how to NOT get banned while you bot. It's mostly common sense but as we all know, it isn't very common, now is it?
- USE A GOOD CLIENT. You know what a good client gives you? Good anti-randoms, anti-bans, scripts, support, etc.... EVERYTHING you could ever want in a bot client. What's my favorite? RSBuddy.
- DON'T MAKE YOUR USERNAME SO *bleep*ING OBVIOUS. When you see someone with a username like IIIll1ll1III10, what's the first thing that come's to your mind? I don't know about you but I say to myself "Oh look, it's another fucking botter that's just asking to get banned." Sure, make your name confusing but don't make it OBVIOUS. Something like CaptaIN Spiffy and CaptalN Spiffy look alike, right? Point is, only you should know your username is far from normal.
- USE REALISTIC MOUSE SPEEDS. Obviously, you can't be clicking lightning fast if you're a human and still be 100% accurate. My 8th grade English teacher always told our class, "Don't get caught with your pants down." Set it around 5-6. That's sufficient for ANYTHING. Having your mouse move at super-human speeds isn't going to boost anything except your ban chances.
- DON'T BOT IN HEAVILY BOTTED AREAS. "But what kind of areas are those," you might be asking. DERP. You know how whenever you go to Varrock and you see this ant-line of people going to and fro between Aubury and the Bank? That's a bot-heavy area. Do you know what some Jagex-penis-sucking-monkey-nipple-licking people do? They screenshot their... well... they screenshot their screen. "OMG WAI WULD SUM1 DO SUC A THING?" I ask myself this question too. You are not alone.
- TURN OFF PUBLIC CHAT.Do you like to talk to your little Runescape buddies while you bot? Maybe chat with a random guy training right next to you? No? Good, me either. Then why is your public chat still on? TURN THAT SHIT OFF. SIGN IN AS INVISIBLE. Nobody but Jagex's servers should know that you're online. Nobody. NOBODY. Not even your mother. Why? You should be doing your homework. Also, as an added precaution, join a friggen Quick Chat world. Who the fuck wants to use predetermined text to talk? Even Stephen Hawking doesn't approve.
- APPEAL TO JAGEX'S SEXUAL-TURN-ON. Buy a membership. It's not like you're actually losing any money. You're botting for Pete's sake. You'll make the $8.00 back from the gold you make while you fish for sharks. Suck it up and deal with the cost for a bit.
- USE THE BREAK FUNCTION. There's a reason that the bot client developers decided to add the break function into the bot in the first place. Use it. Who the hell wants to be Captain Obvious botting 24 hours straight? You? Didn't think so. You don't even have to use constant breaks, just rare will suffice.
- REPORT OTHER PLAYERS. Always have to save the best for last, amirite? The #1 douche-bag-spit-swallowing-graphite-chomping-butt-sniffing-hypocritical thing you can possibly do to prevent your ass from getting banned? Report other botters. It's amazing how Jagex will think that people who have animosity towards other botters and report them aren't botters themselves. Simply amazing.

Common knowledge may not always be so common. However, you're the minion.

No need to get this stickied. Common knowledge

If you REALLY think about it, it's not entirely common knowledge. For example, when I started botting, I would have never done these things. In fact, I probably did everything I said NOT to do in this guide. It SHOULD be common knowledge, however.
