I have owned every call of duty from mw2 and up and every battlefield since bad company 2
This really only works for your personal preference, call of duty can be more fun and its easier to play when you don't have much time to spent half an hour on a conquest gamemode on battlefield
I can debate about every game but that wold take me atleast 15mins but in my preference cod for fun, battlefield for strategy etc

Honestly. A few years ago I would have said Battlefield, back when BF3 was the thing. But now, Battlefield is the same thing over and over. BF4 was BF3 with DLC. BFH was horrible. The new CODs are all the same concepts but just a little bit better than Battlefield in my opinion. They are kind of two different game styles.
Somewhere on the west coast of the United States... Maybe
This has likely already been said 100x, but, im here to say it again. Battlefield is for people who like highly technical and team gameplay with a more realistic edge to it. The typical battlefield player wants more to do, and has the luxury of taking themselves out of the game completely and trying their hand at command and control...
Call of duty is more geared for the player who likes to RUN AND GUN... its faster paced. Its hard to say if it has more action or not, but it might. If you are the type of player who wants to get a quick lick in and have some fast fun on a FFA, call of duty is your best bet... Not to mention that some of the titles have zombies.. so, you can leave the regular campaign or multiplayer and shoot some zombies. Battlefield doesn't have that.... which sucks.
so ya... all-in-all Call of Duty is faster run and gun... and Battlefield is more team oriented, and slower paced in my opinion.. (not slow by much) its also more realistic in my view.. because there are so many aspects to battlefield that aren't even touched in Call of Duty. Like Vehicles!! (HUGE PLUS) and Battlefield actually employs BULLET DROP, which is so bad ass!!
