Well if you want to make what I made, you'll need to know as3, avm2 bytecode, and java. Python will work instead of java. I used java simply because there was a proxy source already available in that language. A proxy done in python is certainly possible but it will be more work as there is no public proxy source for rotmg made in that language (afaik).

Realm Relay might work but you'll need to figure out how to add custom packets to it as that is what I use to share information between clients.

I'm not sure what the problem is. As long as the host file is correct and you have the client trusted it should work. Maybe ask someone else? I really don't use RR so I'm not the best person to ask.

Not sure why that is. You sure you are adding the right client to your trusted locations list?
