Private servers are mostly down nowadays. Only one up right now as far as I'm aware is Oryxill's; there used to be a lot more, but they come and go, so just keep an eye on the main forum.

As for more coming up - a friend and I are working on a server, or we were, but I haven't talked to him about RotMG since I helped him set up the source so we could start modifying it. My Visual Studio causes server and wserver to lock up my computer when I run them after rebuilding, so I'm not a lot of help on that front.
