can you connect a laptop with hdmi port with the ps3

my question is can you connect the ps3 to your laptop i have hdmi i tryied it last night and nothing pop up at all so any help plz/yayz

The simple answer is 'No', this is because 2 Output Devices can not connect to each other,

Output devices send signals outwards and an Input device receives signals, if there are 2 Output devices trying to connect to each other the signals will clash and Neither one will be Visible.

On the other hand if there is an Input device there is a path for the signal to enter, allowing there to be a steady flow of data to travel from the Output Device (PS3) to a Monitor (Desktop Computer LCD, LCD,LED and Plasma TV's)
