How manually set Dayz Main Steam Account CD Key - no need for alternate account

Hello everyone,

I figured out a nice way to bypass this in order to use your original steam account.

After you have used the keychanger to update your key,


#1) Open your registry and goto

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 OA

#2) right click on the folder Arma 2 OA and select "Permissions"


#3) Click Advanced


#4) Click edit on your current username

Change "Set Value" to Deny .. save

#5) Click edit on Administrator

Change "Set Value" to Deny .. save


Now steam will be unable to change the key on start. It will also make it so the keychanger will crash. So if you need to change it again, remove these strict permissions. This does solve the problem :) and allows you to use your main steam account.


make sure you leave all the other values to "allow" or steam will crash.

Question, this is restricted to 1 computer, right? Say if I install OA through steam on a different computer I will still be banned, correct?
