I took an introductory Python class and learned a few things. However, the class never got to writing scripts for websites. I am in need of a mentor / tutor that will help me compile a script to automate check outs on sites. I need help on how to figure out what to write and what I should write in order to be successful! If I read that right and you want to automate the checkout process on a website then the easiest way I can think of is looking up "beautifulsoup" for your python version. Read some docs/tutorials/examples and you should be able to get a working version together fairly quickly.
As written above by Nimboso, beautifulsoup4 does the job of "checking websites". It's very popular so you can get a lot of documentation on it as well.
