i've been tryin to do that lately... i tried to make a basic box with text in it.... the text wouldn't change size and the box took up the whole screen LOL

You should make basic sizes, float X;, float Y;, float W;, float H;
then apply it into your code, so like; void BasicBox(X, Y, W, H, Color, pDevice);
X should give the vertical size, Y should give the horizontal size :)

Awesome, I've seen such menu's before, very nice, but they can take up alot of memory :(

that's only if you include a lot of crap... if you do it like a basic sprite and check for memory leaks and patch em up, you should be fine. You just render the SWF once at run time and boom. no lag
