They have a right to receive treatment, but they/their insurer/etc should be the one paying, not the public.
I don't pay for others stupid choices, and that's the only kind of health care I want to pay for.
That's where you and I differ, I wouldn't mind paying more in taxes if it means the lives of human beings are saved, regardless of whether the incident was self-induced over a period of 20 years of hedonism or an act of God. Whether we like it or not, 2 or 3 generations are fucked, obesity/poor-health is becoming the norm and to change that we'll have to start with the new generation.
And now for your viewing pleasure, Mr. Bill Maher:

So I guess you were fine with us putting our money in to save those Banks for their stupid choices. I guess that makes everything OK right? Yeah, socialism is great isn't it? Let's all pay for each other, and give no incentive to work for what you earn. Except this is America, a Capitalist society.
If you can't live or fix the result of your choices... Don't do it. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. If you choose to smoke, you better be able to pay for the shit when your health fucks up, don't expect me to pay for it. If you choose to live your life detrimental to your health, ITS YOUR CHOICE, ITS YOUR RESULT, ITS YOUR PROBLEM. Not mine, not the guy down the street, nor is it my pocket's problem.
You interfere with the most basic cycle, and you interrupt evolution. The retards are supposed to do and die off, and the gene pool is saved, and evolution is preserved, and the next generation doesn't make the same mistake. Quite simple, eh?
Harsh reality as it is, that's life? Don't like it? Go get socialized in some other country.
I have no problem with Government run health care, and hell I don't mind paying for it as long as I'm insured as well, I just don't want two things:
1) Mandatory health care
2) Paying for other people's stupid choices
I don't go blowing all my money on a Ferrari just so I can go 240 miles an hour down the street then get into a wreck knowing I can't pay for the end result.
No, I just don't. I go blowing my money on a Ferrari just so I can go 240 miles an hour down the street then get into a wreck knowing I can pay for the end result.
The most logical healthcare plan is to nationalise it.
However, I agree that self-inflicted shit such as smoking related diseases should not be paid for by the tax payer.
In England, we still have non-nationalised healthcare, were rich people pay more for shorter lists and better hospitals etc...
But the NHS overall is one of England's greatest achievements.
It can work on a bigger scale too.
people who smoke,do other drugs and are fat ( i mean very big, you know what im trying to say_ should have to pay more
Serious, eh?
PLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH.
thrue ... i am with you.... que need a revolution
healthcare would be alright. excludin personal inflincted of course.
BUT they need to fix social security and medicare FIRST before even thinkin about healthcare.
national health-care: a scam by the government to make us even more dependent on them.
and where is the money for this "national health care" coming from? Taxes! Higher Taxes, so in the long run..your not saving anything
yeah.. a pretty useless post considering its a game hacking website.. but i do see where yur coming from :)
You dont pay for health care for just those reasons although the majority is irresponsible people that do not take care of themselves some people are in actual need of health care
