It takes a few times to actually get "high". I put it in quotations because the first couple of times you will feel it but not really if that makes sense. Try it with your friend a couple more times to see if you like it.
Also, is the reason you don't like it because it's "bad" for you? There are multiple things that marijuana can help with and there are very very little bad things to come from smoking or eating (edibles) marijuana.

So, i was having an argument with one of my friends about how weed was just a complete waste of money (He spends half of his pay check on this stuff) When he starts saying how i can't say anything because i'v never tried it, so to shut him up i said alright i'll try some so we go get some weed from his house i try it and well, I still think its a waste of money, I'd rather just have a coca cola :P

I smoke weed all the time - I can say that the first time does nothing for lots of people.

It's really good for chilling out and relieving stress, medicicanl, etc.

Honestly though I would reccommend against it if you have an addictive personality.

People say it's not addictive but I would class myself as addicted and am currently trying to stop

Weed will make you feel like things are slower, your tongue will be dry even after drinking water. You keep forgetting things, if your really high you would feel like you can't move.
