Question GTX 1080 or TITAN X Pascal

Hello everyone, first of all sorry for my english. I want to buy a new gpu because I've a gtx 660 since 2012 (If I remember good).

I have saved for 2 years and soon I'll have the enought money to buy the gtx 1080 but I don't know if a good idea wait to get the enought money to buy the Titan x Pascal. What do you think is the best option?

(With my actual gpu I play games at 40fps).

Thanks for read and again sorry for my bad english.

I don't see why you would need a Titan X Pascal, a 1080 will do everything you need and more.

With that big of a jump you need to make sure you PSU can handle it as well as your CPU, you don't want to bottleneck it and end up causing serious damage to anything in your PC.

I prefer the Asus Range myself but do recommend looking at EVGA as well.

Dude I dont know if 500W is enough, if it's an efficient PSU it might work but that's really cutting it close for a 1080, it doesn't sound like it's enough to me. I'd even worry with a 970

like @hepan said, you will definatly need to get a need PSU, i would get a 750W but a 600-650 would work just fine

Thanks for your help guys, you're awesome. I have new problem now, yesterday I told my friend that I'm going to buy the gtx 1080 and a new power supply, but he said me that is a bad idea and is best buy a gtx 960 and make a sli with my old gtx 660.

What do you think about it? Is most poweful sli 660+960? Is best option buy other card less than 1080 and make a sli?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

Tell your friend hes a moron for thinking that you can sli an 660 and a 960. Plus even if you could i would not recomend it. it would be alot slower then a 1080.

Anyways what resolution are you playing at? Even a 1070 would be overkill for a 1080p monitor. Dont buy a 1080 for 1080p gaming.

Also a 500 Watt powersupply will be enought.

Get the 1080, the titan xp is Overkill for what you wa't to do , also your friend is dumb ,
For the power supply 500w is close to be enought but i woud recommand at least 600-750w if you want to be safe and don't burn everything in your pc
