HDD 1TB - which one?

For price, I'd say a Seagate Barracuda. For max performance, I'd recommend a WD Black HDD.

You can't go wrong with Seagate's Barracuda HDDs. Those things last a lifetime

I have one, since 2013 and I've had no problems with it

Previous to my current HDD, I had an external 1TB HDD from Seagate as well, and it served me well. They DO last for ages

So i can only say WD(blue) or Seagate(Barracuda), i personaly prefer WD, but in global they have same fails.

if you want the most value buy an 8tb wd easystore at like bestbuy or amazon when they go on sale for like $120~ us dollars and then "shuck" it. (removing it from its external enclosure). All the hard drives are basically the same in performance. 1tbs are usually not the wisest purchase because typically at msrp they cost like $50 dollars, while something like 4tb drives have an msrp of like 80-90. Almost double the price for 4x the storage. cheers
