MPGH MiddleMan MarketPlace, What happened to it?

Anyone remember the new (at the time) MPGH Market Place that was like an online retail website (like ebay)?

Where products are listed and you can just buy them from there to minimize risk (on behalf of the buyer).

Then after after confirmation that goods were delivered MPGH Mods or somethin would release the funds.

I think they only accepted crypto at the time

What happened to it?

I'm not sure about the funds but I beleive @arunforce got around to handling all of that in the end, could be wrong.

As for NPCVend it won't be coming back in the same form but arun said he was working on something along the lines of that. We will have something to streamline the marketplace sometime in the future, but no concrete plans have been made for it yet.

Some shit happened, the website got taken down. The funds are still there, most of it was claimed. I ended up paying people out of my own wallet until I was able to withdraw the funds safely. The website didn't handle much money in the entire history, most of the sales were $1-$5 for accounts and things.

A lot of lessons to be learned from it. The whole principle of holding funds until the buyer is satisfied was a fucking huge headache, and also the application security + php sucks ass + transactions were a bit complicated too, and trying to minimize tx fees for buyers/sellers caused more headaches than it was worth (bitcoin took off and the fees shot up astronomically in 2018). The idea was to be self sufficient marketplace (mostly) but it divulged into something totally different, spent a lot of time trying to resolve support issues. Operationally it was a clusterfuck, especially solo.

After the peak, settled down to a mere 10 tx a day, a lot of sellers left the platform because the payouts weren't automated and they were complaining about buyers and lack of features (charts, reports, etc). Who can blame them? Buyers were mostly happy, but there weren't automated refunds, the API I was using had extremely poor documentation, and tx batching and other things I needed to do to keep fees at a minimum was basically shooting in the dark. I was dealing with some life issues and didn't have the time or interested to commit to it or keep developing it.

Long story short, it was a failure. I wanted to do something totally different in terms of a marketplace, but it wouldn't really be any buyer protection and scammers and illegal activities might flood the website. But as of now, I'm not interested in solo developing anymore or developing applications that turn into havens for illegal activities + I have to find competent engineers to do the work for me.
