I'm guessing it had something to do with starting MW2 and killing the steam process. I tried that, but MW2 freaked out and crashed. Anyone have any luck with something else?

You don't need to insult anyone. I know how to read. I'm just stating that part of the puzzle is removing the steam.exe process (task manager?) and then spoofing mw2 into thinking steam is still running.
