This could actually be set up pretty easily, MPGH Attack The Castle.

There is an RPG Mod that has power levels, every time you die, you lose 2 power levels, starting at level 10.
If the mod was modified a bit to make it where you're kicked or don't spawn once you get to 0, then it'd be perfect.

Make a small base for the other team, and have a timer, of about a 5 minute perpare time.

After each war is over, reset the sever to a backup of the world that was made before the war, but after the construction is over.

Pretty much. Single player isn't as fun as a server though. A sever allows you to build what you want with your friends however your under the threat of being raided by other griefers and assholes.

Then on the otherside you can form a team of griefers and go hunt someone down and tear down their shit.
