I just got the cheat detected message for the first time while running the hack. If I join games on ranked servers without running the hack, then I'm fine (for probably a very short while, anyway). Well, the ban stick is probably coming --wait for it . . .

How the Hell did they detect it--it's freaking external to the game? What the Hell are they reading on our Windows system that is giving it away? It's got to be reading some specific signature from Windows. And if it's reading something off Windows, then the read can probably be blocked or scrambled since it's external to the game. Would it be scanning running processes?

Fuck. I loved that hack. Used it for years.

I think they may be reading the window name on the hack external to the game. Changing that may work, but if you already got the message "Cheat Detected" then you're toast. I first saw the message yesterday and today I'm VAC banned. This means they were monitoring for a while before using the ban stick (Fuckers).

Just use random name of the window.

sorry I think it's my fault. I have been using this cheat since it came out in January on servers with a lot of cry babies (one guy even claimed he reported me 250 times everytime he saw me). They must have reported me like 5000 total times so this motivated Steam to take action.

If you changed the hack cfg file recently to cover your tracks it probably won't do dick--they were watching for the name already so a ban will be on your way shortly. If this is indeed the cause, then those people who covered their tracks when they first ran the hack will probably be fine. I'd like the hack author to chime in on all this though.
