Boosting GFX Activity

Okay, so we're all familiar with the activity situation in this section. I am trying a yet untested method to boost the activity. I am promoting the Graphics section in my own signature. I think it would have an effect if everyone tried to do the same in their own way which I think would attract many GFXers that aren't familiar about the existence of this section, since, let's face it, most of the users are here for hacks. It was the same case for me, untill I saw how cool it was to be able to make pro GFX shit like them experts do it here. I'm going to make a tag for this purpose during the weekend, too.

People come here for hacks because they are free. Eventually they may decide to purchase hacks because they've been exposed to the features and such already through public hacks and threads posted directly in front of them. The problem with the graphics section is not that your signature lacked information about it, it's the fact that we are offering a service in which the general population of this site does not regularly need if at all. Instead of informing people about this section we need to inform people why they should come to this section, we need something to offer. This has always been our main problem and will probably be for quite some time, this isn't a graphics forum so you can't expect much.

I meant to mention that but I figured it went without saying. I don't know how things are going now but SOTW has always seemed to spark a little bit of interest in those unfamiliar with this section however it's not the amount Liz and Dave are looking for.

I can only speak for myself when I say that on top of modding the forums and supplying sufficient critique on posted work there was limited time for requests. I did try to fill out most and often got ones through pms or vms that I took care of on the side. I would also occasionally try to give people previous tags of mine that they could use because I lacked the time to make what they were requesting.

But it's whatever. Like I said I can't speak for everyone but I can only assume that the other members were trying equally as hard to fill requests. It's hard when the requests section is/was the most active section and people get a signature and are back for a different one next week. Also the complexity and detail that the requests were asking for was sometimes impossible or would require extreme amounts of work that was just not worth it in the end.


It is what it is though, the gfx team is gone because of it. I wouldn't say filling them out would spark activity though because usually people come here and beg and once they get what they want they leave.
