What do you mean "Client Sided"? IRC chats need a client to run, but there are web based programs such as mibbit that you can use as an alternative to a downloaded client.

I agree that burdening the user to setup their IRC client won't work out too well. I thought we were going to put a web-based chat on the front-page or something - hmmz but it does make the page look fugly.
