not necessarily... i was talking to a guy on PSN and he said that he had just moved from his xbox because it was too expensive and he was buying a xbox twice a year because it kept breaking... ive had my ps3 for about 3-4 years and i have a NO problems what so ever (apart from PS getting hacked)

ive heard many stories of people saying that when their machine was on, they accidentally kicked it or bumped it slightly and the disc inside had scratches all over it or they got the red rings

If you make the disk tray wobble slightly the disk can get majorly fucked
