You just said he didn't paricipate in WWI. The Nazi Party, or rather it's predecessor, formed in 1919, a year after the war was over. Hitler reformed it into the party we know today, after he came into power.

Hitler fought in the trenches in WW1, got awarded 2 medals for bravery (I think). After WWI, Germany had a coalition government, then that turned into a Republic (Weimar), that lasted for a little bit but in 1923(?) Germany was fucked up the ass with inflation. I think Hitler tried to seize power in Munich in 1922(?) but then got sent to jail for 8 months where he wrote Mein Kampf. The Nazis started off pretty small w/ seats on the German parliament, but eventually rose to 260+ I believe. Then the Republic/Communists/Nazis fought for power for a while. Then, President von Hindenburg appointed Hitler chancellor in 1933. This was mostly due to high-ranking politicians influencing Hindenburg. They thought they could control Hitler and use him to their advantage, well that didn't work out did it? Then Hitler forced him to grant him 100% power.

I should elaborate. By saying Hitler wasn't involved in WWI I mean is a figure in power.

I just went over this in school. He didn't reform it, in fact he joined it, he was originally a lonely soldier and later on, he gave his input about ideas and stuff and they agreed so they decided to make him official leader of the nazi's.
