Some guy requested a sound effect, as seen in the thread above. I posted a youtube video with the effect that conveniently had a download in the description for an .MP3. I was warned for the "no outside links in youtube videos" rule or whatever.

Not only was the link obviously harmless (although I'll give it to you that that's not an excuse for regular users on MPGH), but I've been taught that minions are meant to "allow" outside links from other users when they see that it's fit to do so. By extension, I'd say we're certainly allowed to post our own links as long as they're safe.

EDIT: Oh right, Disturbed was the one who gave me the warning -- I don't see that as relevant because all upper staff can check but I know you people are nosy and someone called me out for it.

That counts as insulting staff. Which, should apply to staff members such as himself I'd say. Disturbed has actually infracted me before for a similar rule which states you cannot misquote staff members, so I don't see any reason he shouldn't be infracted for this.

If the mp3 file was so easily obtained, put into rar and upload to site. Le problem solved.

That's only when there's no other choice, not because of shits and giggles. If it can be uploaded to the site, then it should be.

If lower/upper staff can approve outside DL's, then please add that to the rules to avoid useless confusion.

Hmm, true... although staff approve outside links in the rez section.
