I found this also, very very handy.

No it does not work for PlayStation 3 as the encryption used for new save game files are different to that of 3.55 or around the time Borderlands 1 was released. As mentioned above the only solution for PS3 users is to purchase Xploder and find a modified save file online. I'll post a thread with some of the resources but the rest is up to the user to do.

i keep getting this error message everytime i try to load my gamesav.sav into the editor... "Failed to load save: Reencode mismatch" .... anyone know whats wrong and how to fix it?

Works good, I've used this to give myself seraph crystals and to make the mission for leviathan in DLC active so I can do it more than twice.

Wondering, is there a way to give yourself golden keys with this tool?

i have a problem, i play with gunzaker and i wanted him to have a legendary shield equiped from the Save Editor, but when i save changes and go to the game menu, nothing happens

Yes, check in RAW DATA.

You have to make sure to make the item correctly, please refer to the Custom Weapons Oasis Thread for more help with creation.

Yes works on regular consoles. As for the re-encode mismatch that will either be a PC or an Xbox 360 save file as all PS3 saves give the error 'Invaild SHA1'. So uploading the file giving the re-encoode error would be helpful to rick aka gibbed.
