For us we have Strings, Band and Vocal.. and I chose Strings although i am capable of being in Band also..

Strings are usually harder because for band, you can barely get out of tune while strings you have to shift, do vibrato and etc..

At my high school, we barely had string instruments. All brass and what not. But people with clarinets came in and they took over. There was also one kid who played the Violin with us, even though the music we played didn't even need it. He was the one snotty rich kid we all hated.
