Some guild is going around player killing and they aren't supposed to be able to do that.

Honestly SAO never really ends or has an overrall plot. Which is sad because if you ended the first game and then went Ghost-in-the-Shell with it, the anime could be pretty decent.

Though of course the writer is a hack, so expecting anything is a bit much.

Eh....monogatari is a bit different.

The author has already ended the series and it has an overrarcing plot. Monogatari isn't any more different than any other series when it comes to production. It has a set story and it takes several seasons to get through(13 LN's), sure, but the story has set parameters and shaft doesn't milk monogatari....they milk Madoka.

The only way shaft milks the monogatari series is the blu-ray, which have an insane amount of upgraded scenes.

SAO is merely a cash cow because the author keeps throwing out VR- light novels with almost no arc.

here is the plot to SAO 1: "People die in the game, get to the top to clear it and save everyone".
-Decent enough, could be better depending upon liberties taken.
Here is the plot to SAO 2: "Asuna is captured, kirito must climb to the top to save her".
-Ok now we are just using the mario cliche.
Here is the plot to SAO 3: "People are getting killed in the game, find out who did it and stop them".
-What? This is the same plot as the first one, with nothing gained for the adventurer.


Next game, same general plot no closer to solving the problems.
