I used to make it with kief and would heat it up with a flat iron. I have a kief box and I'll grind up my buds, put it in the box with a few pieces of dry ice, and shake it all up until the bud has almost no thc left on it. Usually I would use trim cause its cheaper and produces the same amount of kief that the actual buds do.
