Arrow Don't want to redownload the game client after a format? READ THIS!

The following is a solution for the "Could not find CombatArms installation files." error, which is a result of at least one of the following scenarios:
    1. Your registry is corrupt and doesn't contain the proper keys that specify the location of the installed game client files

    2. You're on a fresh installation of Windows and you're missing the registry keys but have a copy of the game directory from a previous installation of Windows. This could be due to a reformat/reinstallation of Widows or you've created a new partition, serving the purpose of having an installation of Windows that you want to strictly use for gaming and you have attempted to copy over the game client files from a previous or current installation of Windows

    3. You want to plug and play the game (portable game client) and on a PC that doesn't contain the proper registry keys that specify the location of the installed game client files, or simply put; you've never installed the game client on the PC you've attempted to launch the game client on

Firstly, you're going to want to have a full copy of the game directory or "\Library\combatarms\appdata". This will be within "C:\Nexon" if you did not change the default settings that the client installation utilizes on your previous installation of Combat Arms. Furthermore, you will need to install the Nexon Launcher. After you've have the Nexon Launcher installed, you will want to follow the normal installation procedures. Upon reaching the game client installer, which begins to download the client files to the directory specified during the setup process, you will want to close the installer.

Once you've halted the installer during it's installation process, and the window is closed, you will transfer all of the game client files over to the installation directory specified in the setup process.
To transfer over the game client files properly, you must transfer over the "appdata" directory "\Library\combatarms\appdata" from the full copy of the game client which you currently have, TO the "\Library\combatarms\appdata" which was created on your local system when you begun the process of the game client installation. NOTE: you will be asked if you want to overwrite files that are already in the directory; do NOT overwrite these files, as they pertain to the setup attempt you've since halted in the aforementioned steps.

Once you have the files transferred over, you will need to reopen the game through the Nexon Launcher. The installer will open up and begin checking all of the files of the installation, as long as the installation you've transferred over is relatively up-to-date the setup will not download much.

The time that the setup takes to check the installation will vary based on your system specifications and your internet connection, as each local file of the game client will have it's checksums individually checked against an index located on their remote servers.

I hope that your issue has been resolved.

    Sincerely,
    J
