Anyone can scam but usually, the chances of non donators scamming is a little higher as they have nothing to lose

It happens, but I suggest using a middle man for everything to avoid those issues. You never know who could scam you!

Anyways a couple of tips to avoid dealing with a scammer.

1) When contacting through Skype make sure the Skype name is EXACTLY the name given at the thread.



2) If you're not sure if the person you are talking to on skype is the same person that created the thread, contact him/her through PM on Mpgh.

3) Try doing some name research on google, if you find allot of results with the same name and they seemed to be banned or have a bad reputation on that website, they may came over here because they've done something wrong on that site.

4) If it's such a high value'd deal/trade use a Middleman, Again for this! make sure the middleman's skype matches the skype given from the middleman,
Some people say that they've found a Middleman and the Middleman will add you, but the thing that you won't realise is that there may be 1 letter being different. so as I've said before, contact the Middleman through PM and make sure he's the one you're talking with on skype.

Dumb staff and middlemen* and on this thread's topic, like House correctly said, anyone can scam, but usually the odd of a non-donator to scam in comparison with a donator is higher because a non-donator has nothing to lose when a donator does. (Although when a non-donator has a decently high post count, a nice reputation and such and a donator doesn't, the odds might change of sides > let's not forget that some of the members that join MPGH daily only buy Donator with the purpose of to look more trusted and use that advantage to scam newbies who still don't even know how the forum works, etc.)

^Although people who don't have any forum knowledge often think that being a donator = trusted. Same thing goes with the Anti-Scam image title, I remember that while I had it, quite a few members contacted me with the purpose of getting me to MM for them because they thought the Anti-Scam image title was a trust entitled position when it isn't.
